Saturday 19th September 2009
Weather dry and warm, slight breeze later and cloudy turning chilly.
The James Maude Linden AC lads were off to the fantastic fishery Cumore, with Pool 1 the chosen venue. With 21 anglers excited about the prospects of a good day and having all the lake so 21 on a 39 pegger made for a few spare pegs could this be a good thing or not, this was our clubs first visit to Cudmore so it could be won from any peg, the wind had been blowing up towards the 19/20 pegs and these lads were excited. A very quite day was in prospect with some lads catching from the off but in general the pool fished hot and cold all day, with the top ten anglers of the day anyone of them could had taken the spoils. A modest weight to win but one that was fished very well by Terry Wiggins the winner on the day from peg 1 with a bag of 27lb-3oz made up of Barbel, Skimmers,Chub, and Carp from down the edge. The top three anglers in the league also fishing out the top three places, followed closely by Dave Sewell on 26lb-11oz from peg 15 and third was Kevin Brown from peg 13 with 26lb-1oz. The strange thing was the first and last place came from the first and last pegs, with your's truly being at the bottom of the pile from peg 39
.
