Mosella Avalon Fishery, Sunday 27th, 6 teams of 4
Unfortunately for Vic and Leigh, who welcomed everyone to their fishery, a strange milky algal bloom lead to very hard fishing. Odd carp were hooked and lost, which in some cases proved to be all the action that was had all day. Many only had one or two fish, but when they could be anything from 4lb to 15lb, one or two could make a huge difference to the section results.
Coach Poach showed the way home individually from the top end peg on the left-hand bank. His 9 carp were substantially more than anyone else could muster. He was even heard to complain that some of his fish just came in like wet sacks!
On the team front, my Devon team ran out winners by 2 points from Eirefish's Somerset team. We also had the best combined weight of 58lb 1oz, 8lb ahead of Somerset had it needed to come down to that.

1st - Devon; 11 points
2nd - Somerset; 13 points
3rd - Wiltshire; 14 points (40lb 0oz)

Thanks to all who fished, especially the Mosella Black Country guys who came down from Birmingham to fish with their sponsor. I hope Vic continues to show his faith in you, you deserve his support.
Next year I hope we can develop this into a national Talk Angling Teams of Four match with the winning team from each region fishing a final. It is a work in progress...
