  • Results for Adroit AC at Solhampton Farm

Weather Conditions :- Warm and sunny

    Number Fished :- 14

    Results:-

Only 14 out of 24 members turned up for a difficult match at Solhamptons valley pool.
The venue was still recovering from recent flooding and most of the platforms were under water. Severe weather warnings had been issued, but luckily the met office were wrong again and all was fine.
As the match progressed it became apparent that one side of the lake was fishing much better, with anglers catching well from the margins. The other side of the lake was much quieter.
In the end it was Darran Mills who stole the honnors once again with an excellent bag of carp caught mainly in the margin.

    1st Darran Mills(Redfin) 93-11-08 peg 14
    2nd Ron Butler 73-12-00 peg 12
    3rd Mark Causer(Markc) 44-13-08 peg 16
    4th Mick Edwards 42-04-00 peg 13
    5th Rob Taylor 28-11-00 peg 8
    6th Dave Hughes 28-03-00 peg 6
    7th Roy Ravenhill(Royst) 19-08-00 peg 2

Note these are not the original peg numbers but peg 1 was by the airator and numbered clockwise from there.

    Additional Info :-

A totally disasterous day for yours truly, snapped my number 4 section clean in half before the match whilst trying to put my brolly in. (severe weather warning - not).
Then about half way through I had a violent take from a carp whilst fishing shallow, which pulled my pole against the pole claw and broke my 14m extension.
Also having already had to peg out, I drew on the match commitee and had to weigh in as well.
Still - chilled out after with a couple of beers in the 'Wharf inn' - Happy days!

6mm expander over their 4mm feed pellet, with a few on the corn.

Struggled for the first 2 hours, then they switched on - foul hooked and lost may more. Stange thing was, if I fished to my left I only had tench and small (4oz carp), fish to the right, proper fish!

Pleased with my performance as it was my first time there - would have liked to have a beer with you Roy, but Dave had to rush back to see a show at 'Stan' City staring a Pakistani Elvis impersonator backed by the bangra girls

I think I'll be retiring it and looking for something a bit softer to rest it on in future.
