James Maude Linden Ac Jansons fishery (5hrs)
    Saturday 7th July 2012

Weather: Overcast, very warm with sunny spells. With heavy rain at knock off.

With the Olympic countdown well and truly underway, Andy Murray first Brit to reach a Wimbledon Final in 74 yrs and Noah contemplating building another Ark after the recent deluges, but would the Carp be going in two by two (only in Butchers peg). The surrounding villages of Belvior took a beating with roads flooded and the river Trent bursting its banks at Gunthorpe but the James Maude lads did not let this dampen their spirits. With always the warmest welcome from Jacquie and Andy the breakfast bar was buzzing with the prospect of big weights on the cards, with all the gratuities paid 26 Maude’s Olympians stepped up to the challenge of the draw bag, this first hurdle out the way it was a 400 mtr sprint (for some) to their chosen pegs. With the depths plumed and bait tubs brimming, Hon Sec fired the starting pistol to commence the race. Elastics were being tested from the off and none more so than first man out the blocks Dave Johnson on peg 26, he fished the outside lane but to many foul hookers made him come short with this tactic he never looked back fishing worm over a bed of chopped worm and hemp Dave breasted the tape with a respectable 99lb-1oz to take his first ever win fishing for James Maude Ac. Well Done Dave. The silver medal went to the inform paste head of Kyle Wood fishing from peg 18 Kyle amassed a good weight of 87lb-2oz. Well Done Kyle. New comer Julian Chadwick took the bronze with 86lb-8oz from peg 4 and keeps the pressure on the top of the league. Well done Julian. With a lake brimming with recent heavy rains and the added pressure of 26 Anglers the backup weights are very commendable. Another cracking days fishing on a cracking venue, we Anglers reap the rewards of Jacquie’s and Andy’s hard work for that we thank them.
    The results are as follows:
    Dave Johnson 99lb-1oz peg 26
    Kyle Wood 87lb-2oz peg 18
    Julian Chadwick 86lb-8oz peg 4
    Gary Butcher 81lb-3oz peg 31
    Ian Carr 74lb-3oz peg 28
    Dave Lilliman 74lb-2oz peg 8
    Pete Jackson 70lb-6oz peg 14
    Nick Heath 65lb-2oz peg 35
    Sean Hanrahan 64lb-4oz peg 32
