James Linden Ac Little John Lakes (Maid Marion)
    Saturday 6th August 2012
Weather: Cloudy, warm with slight breeze, occasional drizzle.

Saturday August 6th 2012 was a day to remember when the rain came down, but this time it was rain of a Golden nature, our British Olympians made us proud with an abundance of Gold. With sports Men and Women from across the globe at the pinnacle of their sporting careers with years of hard work and training to hone the skills to allow them to reach perfection. In life you only get out of it what you are prepared to put into it. And one man that certainly falls into this category is James Maude’s Kevin Brown, Kevin is every bit the analyst perfecting his skills to achieve the glory the he richly deserves. With a field of twenty two hopefuls descending upon Sherwood Forest to do battle and Little John Lakes would Maid Marion do the lads proud and produce. Well this was going to be a tough cookie with 23 anglers around weights tends to be reduced as fish back off. Kev’s draw was to take him to peg 10 14.5 mtrs was his chosen length, Kev fished meat on the deck and shallow moving his rig to find the fish and this tactic was to prove rewarding with a steady stream of stockies he amassed a weight of 81lb-1oz so Brown is Back to his Best winning his first match of the season. Gold to Kev Brown. The name Wiggins is more synonymous with Gold but today it was silver for Wiggins, Terry fished a steady match again mostly at distance maggot hook bait on the deck feeding dead reds to put together a good weight on a tough day of 45lb-8oz from peg 2. Silver to Terry Wiggins.
Dave Sewell looking for back to back wins drew well with 14 in his hand he fished top two and two on meat but fish came late on and 36lb-12 graced his net. Bronze to Dave Sewell.
So the rest of the field were stunned to silence on a day when the lake decided to switch off, all the preparation was to no avail but credit to all that stuck to the task.
    The results are as follows:
    Kevin Brown 81lb-1lb peg 10
    Terry Wiggins 45lb-8oz peg 2
    Dave Sewell 36lb-12oz peg 14
    Kyle Wood 34lb-13oz peg 12
    Pete Lambert 32lb-6oz peg 3
    Nick Heath 22lb-9oz peg 26
    Ian Carr 21lb-11oz peg 9
    Tony Smith 21lb peg 13
    Brian Cox 20lb-8oz peg 23
    Dave Lilliman 19lb-12oz peg 15
    Johnny Evans 18lb-11oz peg 8
Pete Divito 17lb-7oz peg 7 (guest)
    Paul Skeldon 17lb-6oz peg 17
    Alan Slack 14lb-9oz peg 11
    Lenny Burton 14lb-7oz peg 4
    Billy Harrison 13lb-7oz peg 1

All anglers must weigh to gain league points.

Cracking write up Billy. Another at Jansons sounds like a great idea, it is fair and everyone catches.
