EDAA Kiaora - Exeter members fished a roving match at Kiaora in cullompton on Sunday. With the recent changeable weather it was a surprise to find a lot of the resident carp cruising around in small groups in preparation for another spawning run. Winner on the day was Zac Newton (Team ALS) who chose to fish peg 8 into open water. He totalled 80lb to take the £50 first prize and caught fish at 10 and 14 meters on paste and up in the water feeding 6mm pellet regularly. Darren Lawrence took £30 for second with 68lb 8oz from peg one. Fishing the pole both to the far bank and tree to the right he caught the bulk of his fish early on then struggled in the later stages. Completing the frame was Gary Thornton (Team ALS) who won £20 for his catch of 57lb from peg 21. Starting towards the floating island he caught small carp up in the water but couldn't keep them coming. Later in the match he made the most of the empty to his left, catching a number of carp from the margin on corn to boost his weight.
