James Maude Ac Hallcroft Fishery Bridge Island (Inner and Outer)

    Saturday 13th September 2014

Weather: Early morning mist steadily clearing to reveal an overcast day with cooler temperatures.

So the beautiful market town of Retford and Hallcroft Fishery was to be our destination for the battle of the Bridge. Both inner and outer pegs were available to the James Maude Ac lads, with bellies fuelled up for the day ahead and for some this would be the best bite of the session. Hallcroft can be a hard place to crack with some big Carp old and wise to the ambitious angler on the bank side, the bridge pool can also throw up some tremendous weights late on with some good weight building Carp. But one man fishing from peg 45 on the outer who caught from the all in was Sean Hanrahan and considering the added pressure of his beloved Notts Forest v Derby County on Sunday would be paramount in his thoughts Sean did well to concentrate on the day ahead. Sean decided to simplify things and limited his options by taking the bulk of his catch on paste and feeding hemp, starting off at 9mtrs and moving out as the fish backed off this proved to be the winning tactic on the day with Sean taking 79lb-1oz to the scales and notch up his first win of the season. Well done Sean. One man still striving hard and pushing for a second place slot in the premiership race is Dave Lilliman he fished another tremendous match fishing from peg 19 on the outer Dave fished close in to weigh 69lb-3oz. Well done Dave. Third place and fishing from the favoured point peg 13 inner was Terry Wiggins close behind with 68lb- 11oz. Well done Terry. So another good turnout with respectable weights on a day when considering that the catch had the edge over the catcher. The results are as follows:

Sean Hanrahan 79lb-1oz peg 45 outer
    Dave Lilliman 69lb-3oz 19 outer
Terry Wiggins 68lb-11 oz peg 13 inner
Kyle Wood 67lb-9oz peg 26 outer
Tony Smith 56lb-9oz peg 48 outer
Johnny Evans 53lb-3oz peg 10 outer
Kev brown 50lb peg 13 outer
Pete Divito 49lb-10 oz peg 54 outer (guest)
Paul Skeldon 41lb-9oz peg 1 inner
Dave Johnson 41lb-6oz peg 7 inner
Terry Cheeseman 41lb-2oz peg 39 outer
Gary Butcher 31lb-3oz peg 51 outer
Billy Harrison 25lb-2oz peg 26 inner
Dave Sewell 23lb-14oz peg 35 outer
Nick Heath 23lb-5oz peg 29 outer
Pete Lambert 20lb-4oz peg 4 inner
Pete Jackson 16lb-12oz peg 23 inner
Paul Davies 15lb-7oz peg 16 outer
Lenny Burton 12lb-8oz peg 10 inner
Ian Carr 12lb-5oz peg 6 outer
Alan Slack 9lb-15oz peg 42 outer
Brian Cox 9lb peg 22 outer
Shaun Green 8lb-9oz peg 19 inner
Lawrence Butcher 8lb-8oz peg 16 inner

All anglers must weight to gain premiership and championship points.

Thank you for taking the time to read.
    Regards Billy Boy :)
