JAMES MAUDE AC JANSON’S FISHERY MATCH POOL

    Saturday 27th September 2014 (5hrs)

Weather: Cold start to the day with heavy mist, clearing later to reveal a warm dry day.

The Vale of Belvoir was the destination for the intrepid James Maude Ac boys and Janson’s fishery. A journey from our home town takes us meandering across the River Trent on a typical autumnal morning, with the mist rolling its way across the river with a certain amount of density, this followed the big drop in temperatures overnight with 3degs being recorded but the chill was soon changed by the warm welcome that always greats you at Janson’s. So would the overnight temps knock the fish off from feeding, with plenty of fish cruising around giving the impression that they are shoaling up in certain areas ready for the onset of the winter months ahead, Baits that have been doing the business are dead reds corn and pellet, so who’s bait tray would hold the key to success.
Dave Johnson fishing from peg 34 caught down the edge on maggot and pellet down the track and over to keep a steady stream of Carp coming to his net taking 84lb-15oz. Well done Dave. Second place going to Mr consistent Kev Brown who’s peg 7 produced 74lb-5oz. Well done Kev. Third and finding form late on in the season is Ian Carr fishing from peg 33 Ian took 67lb-2oz to the scales. Well done Ian. So with some respectable club weights as to the open match weights, twenty anglers all using the scales.
    The results are as follows:
    Dave Johnson 84lb-15oz peg 34
    Kev Brown 74lb-5oz peg 7
    Ian Carr 67lb-2oz peg 33
    Terry Wiggins 63lb-10oz peg 1
