  • Backleads

Ive been fishing a stretch of can al that is really busy with boats. If i used backleads on my carp/feeder rods, would i get away with leaving them in when barges go past. The canal is 3.5 feet deep

Depends where you position your bait and the contours of the bottom, most canals have a ledge on either side, so the line will be in a straight line from you backlead to your rig lead.it could work but i dont think id risk it. Regards Peter.
Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints.
