  • catty elastic

i changed some black hydro in june and decided to use the old one on a couple of catties because the so called proper elastics were wearing out after a few sessions it is nearly five months now and its the cups that want changing

Sounds good, I know Will Raison likes to use Brown Hydro on his groundbait catties.
Perhaps you don't need to change your Hydro in the pole so often now though?

Glad you like it. I kept one but just couldn't justify keeping a pair with money being a bit tight.
Doing a review on it for the Angler's Mail soon, I agree it is a cracking rod.

As for the Hydro, try J-Range Lastix, marketed by Mosella. It comes in the same sizes as Hydro although some are a different colour. The difference is, sometimes the Hydro seems to be thinner than normal, whereas Lastix is very consistent.

It also only costs £9.99 a pack.
