It's a weird one this - i went to Scarborugh at the weekend & loads of people we're fishing with crab lines & cheap made up rods that they'd bought for a £10 from a local shop. I'm pretty sure non of these people would ever go fishing more than once a year & should they really have to pay for a licence.

Can you imagine if the baliffs started prosecuting people for this ???

Sorry but I can't see any difference between that and someone buying a cheap coarse set up from Lidl for £10 and only fishing once a year. They forget that the EA spend a lot of money on coastlines so why shouldn't sea anglers pay?

If you fish with rod and line you should have to buy a licence, whether you're on a lake, river, canal or in the sea, end of as far as i'm concerned.
