Kelk - good timing, I was only talking to two angling friends this morning before the match. Both had their vans broken into last week at the same venue whilst in the club house. One was insured and one wasn't so it brought it home to me how important it is to have your tackle insured away from your house. The guy who had insurance was covered on his home insurance and specified expensive items - his pole was insured as a single item for 2 grand, and the rest covered for 7.5K. All this was for an additional premium of approx £45 and I think he said the Ins company was AXA.

My Ins up for renewal soon so I'll be looking into this for sure.

Does damage in a fishing situation count as accidental damage?

I have found a site that you can insure you fishing tackle on. For my case it does cover theft from garage (should this ever happen) and it covers the whole of what your tackle is worth i.e. £7000 etc Compare Fishing Insurance | Get A Free Quote Now | E&L Insurance
