ok guys this might sound daft but is there an ideal weight for a silver fish insert waggler that I should not go over say 3aaa ??? does weight matter ????
    cheers fil

It matters on how far you want to throw remembering that you should overcast to sink the line when winding the float back to your spot
3aa takes some chucking over 4 to 5 rods out , conditions also have a bearing such as wind strength and directions along with tow on the water
lighter floats will obviously move with tow unless you get some line on the deck

Use the lightest floats you can for the conditions and the distance you're casting.

And shot it correctly for the conditions and target species
