  • Sub £50 waggler Rod

I am just returning to the sport and need a new float rod to use on still water commercials.
I already have a good avon rod i can use on rivers.
Due to financial restrictions i can only spend £50ish on a new rod.
I have a few models in mind but want to know what the experience lot out there think.

I realise i should spend as much as i can afford.

    Fishing varied species and weights.

Looking at Daiwa proteus 13ft a shakespeare mach 2 13ft and a shimano model 13ft.

    Any advice wouold be appreciated.

Hi Bunglebear....i recently bought a 12ft Middy " The Works" pellet waggler rod for £49 from Fosters in Birmingham.....its a nice rod which i can use on commercials, it has a nice action and can handle bigger carp as well as the smaller F1's with no problems. Think it was recomended for lines from about 3lb up to 6lb (dont quote me on that), i mainly use lines of around 4lb and it seems spot on. Have a look around because im sure they do this rod in 13ft version if thats what your after. Hope that helps.
