Im not a user of daiwa pole rollers m8, but they make a lot of good stuff. So would assume that it would be good, i can tell you the preston rollers are good.
The tripod rollers have there pluses and minuses as do the flat rollers. Tripods are great when your fishing with a high bank behind you and you need to vary the angle of the legs (which you will find difficult with the flat roller) but they are a nightmare in windy conditions and if not anchored down will tumble over (which has also happened with my flat roller before also). If i was going to buy a flat roller then get the Preston XL Pro Flat Roller.
