    Hello All,

Could anyone tell me, is there a specific way for putting line on to a centrepin reel ?
I am struggling to see how you can get the line to lay uniformly on the reel, although i have not had a go yet

    Thanks in advance

Depends on the reel Dave. Most reels, even budget ones, these days spread the line fairly evenly!Once you've cast out once and retrieve it's down to the design of the reel anyway!

Do not put too much line on a centrepin reel 50yds is about the maximum, it also stops it from bedding in and makes for a smoother take off of the line.

i find its best to have the line running from off the top rather than the bottom,
it reduces line snags round the top peg and enables a quicker retrive when batting back
a good floating line is essential on long trotting.i also try to find a stretch with an upstream wind.
