Depths are generally in the region of 4 foot, two methods of attack method feeder on a long chuck, or pellet feeder at around 30 turns, pole line at 12 metre feed soft fishmeal ground bait and fish pellet over the top or alternatively chop and caster. On the feeder you are looking for carp or F1s, the pole line should produce skimmers which are now approaching the 2lb mark and are plentiful if they get their heads down. Barston being a big water and shallow does tow a fair bit but does not seem to affect the fishing, personally I find it better when towing towards the clubhouse.
The only rules at Barston from memory are Barbless hooks, no braid, no floating baits.
