fished it a couple years ago was about this time of year didnt have a wrap on the pole was a great big pike 2foot from the bank looked like a 20 but the guy to my left were chucking a great big block 2oz dreenan feeder to the horizon full of maggos guess he put in 3 4 pints then switched to a straight lead tipped with maggots and man thouught he hooked a carp ,great fight turned out to be a roach 2 half pound he had three about hat size plus otheirs, basically i got the method wrong ,so if you do give it a go take some maggots get on the dam wall half way along ,fished stowe in the summer this year can be hard to land on the fish if you give it a go try to get were the church is behind you ,mainly tip fishing never done any good on the pole fishmeal groundbait maggots hope this helps tight lines
