I have a match on the larch @ Boldings in a couple of weeks.
Does anyone know how its fishing recently and what baits and methods are best?

Larch like any other pool is up and down at the mo. Depends how many is on it and what time of day you are fishing. Shallow pellet or pellet/maggot combo down margin is best. But you do need fair few maggots if going down that route. Something like 4-5 pints. Ive had two tons last two times on the larch feeding bag of their pellet at the off and fishing bunch of maggots and feeding maggots throughout the day. A foot and a half of water is what you are looking for.

Thanks Steve, there will be around 17 of us on the pool and the match will kick off at 9. I'm guessing your matches were a bit later in the day??

17 is a lot for larch. You will be pegged tight but there will still be margin fish to be caught. They may take a while longer to arrive during the day though. While you waiting id be either fishing shallow or short on the deck if its bit cooler. Id use 1,3,4,5,7,8,11,14,15,16,18,19,22,23,25,26,28 for 17 people.
