  • Angling Trust And RNLI To Tackle Sea Angling Safety

National Campaigns Coordinator Martin Salter and Marine Campaigns Manager David Mitchell travelled to Poole on Friday May 11th to meet with the RNLI’s Coastal Safety team.

Recent research commissioned by the RNLI's Coastal Safety and Research team has shown that deaths from sea angling are amongst the highest for all coastal leisure pursuits.

The RNLI and the Angling Trust have agreed to work together with other sporting bodies on a campaign aimed at increasing awareness of safe practices to be followed when fishing in potentially dangerous situations, such as from small boats or rock platforms. Watch out for more news about this over the coming months.
