does anyone know how a claim goes for a stadard parcel when posted with royal mail.
The item i sent (which was a top kit)has been posted through a letterbox and has broken, after 3 weeks of being posted.(said he was on holiday).
Does he need to send me the item back for me to claim or does he need to claim.
    Advice please.

You will need it back to claim, but as it was posted through a letterbox i think you will find they will say it wasn't packaged well enough. I had one broken that was sent in a normal sized rod tube, it had footprints on it where someone had stood on it. They said it should have been wrapped in bubble wrap, in the tube then the tube in a box made of double thickness cardboard and any space in the box filled with polystyrene shapes or shredded paper.
